In the last few months we have begun showcasing just some of the custom loading ramps that we have been designing. The International E-Z Up and The Seattle Times Newspaper ramps were just a couple of the hundreds of custom ramps that we have built. Through our years of experience we have been able to help our clients identify their needs and create a loading ramp to improve their warehouse efficiencies. This is all done through our custom loading ramp design process.
The process of designing a new ramp begins with uncovering the problems currently being faced. Sometimes you may already have an idea of what the problems are, and sometimes in this process we actually uncover other areas that could also be improved. These could be as simple as limited number of docks, insufficient foot traffic areas, or traffic funnel clog. Once these problems are identified and we learn how and why they occur, we can begin to determine how they can be alleviated.
There are a number of ways that problems can be fixed. But depending on the space available and the budget set, the end result can look different. Just because there are only 2 docks when 5 are needed, does not mean we will produce a loading dock that is so large it won’t fit the yard. We will work with the variables provided and output real solutions. Once we have a list of what the needs and restrictions are of the new loading ramp, we can start to design.
When we go to the drawing board with the variables, we have an understanding of what the final product will look like. We begin to design the loading ramp in our software that allows us to see how the final product would function. We can run simulations to see how effective it would be if a real forklift were to use it, or if it had higher foot traffic. Though our simulations we can determine if the dimensions are sufficient for real life application.
Once we have the specifications and mock up of the final loading ramp design, we then present it to you, the client. You can see how the ramp will function and exactly what the final product will look like. Once we have your approval we move on to the manufacturing process.
In this final step we begin to turn the design into a real functioning loading ramp. We will have engineering sign off on the final design to ensure that the new ramp is safe for use. Once the ramp is completed we schedule it for delivery at your location.
